The new trends of barbershops and beard grooming have brought men fully into the digital conversation. Their online presence has almost tripled: now 41% of internet users talking about haircare are men, compared to just 17% in 2014 (Source: Stanpa’s social listening on haircare).

Treatments are one of the main haircare subjects

Types of hair treatment are among the most popular subjects for users. Mentions on split ends, vitamins, volumising or hair nutrition interest users most, followed by subjects like straightening, keratin treatments and greasy hair.
On specific salon treatments, users prefer to discuss subjects like volume, shine or how to protect hair in the summer, which make up 25% of the total conversation on treatments according to our Social Listening on haircare.
