Recycling packaging

Packaging is essential to perfumery and cosmetics to ensure the products reach the consumer in optimal conditions of stability, safety and effectiveness. Its main function is to protect the product, so it does not deteriorate and is not contaminated by handling or during the sales process.
However, the useful life of the packaging does not end when the product is consumed - it goes on to a new process in which it is recycled, contributing to sustainability and the protection and conservation of the environment.

2019 Guide to the Annual Perfumery
and Cosmetics Packing Declaration

Stanpa, as a member of CEOE, Ecoembes, Plataforma de Envases y Sociedad (Platform for Packaging and Society), Packnet, Ecoembalajes and Ecovidrio (Eco Packaging and Eco Glass), participates actively in their working groups, conducting in-depth analysis of the new circular economy model and strategy for plastics. We have carried out the following proposals:

Single-Use Plastics Directive

The aim of this is to reduce the presence of plastics in the environment, specifically in the marine environment and coastal areas.

ECHA proposed restriction on intentional uses of microplastics

The aim of this is to reduce the presence of plastics in the environment, specifically in the marine environment, and their impact on humans through the food chain.

Publication of changes to the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive

The priority of this is preventing the production of waste from packaging and encouraging its reuse, recycling and other forms of value recovery.

Publication of changes to the Waste Framework Directive

The aim of this is to prevent the generation of waste and minimise negative impacts of waste generation and management by reducing the global impact of use of resources.
